Job Summary/Description

Monitors maintains and completes key financial functions and participates in the reporting processes. As a member of Entergys Finance Business Partners group assists with budget financial forecasts reporting of actual financial results and variance explanations financial statement analysis controls as well as highlighting key issues and exposing items that may impact profitability. Supports Operational Finance Director (OFD) with key regulatory activities and one-off filings in order to achieve companys strategic goals. Participates in process improvement projects and special projects to support Operating Companies as well as functional customers. The successful candidate will be forward thinking with both a detail orientation and the ability to think strategically.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various teams to develop ad-hoc decision-making models based on accounting regulatory and other financial information
  • Proposes necessary updates to the established system to better reflect updated information related to new and ongoing strategic initiatives. Documents process and ensures model outputs remain accurate.
  • Queries data creates analyses provides analytical support and develops presentations.
  • Gains understanding of regulatory structure and supports regulatory filing processes including but not limited to testimony regulatory workpapers and exhibits.
  • Suggests and implements process improvements to benefit greater team.
  • Communicates with other departments to gather information about Entergys businesses and transactions.
  • Communicates with subject matter experts across the company to better understand the risk of certain projects and / or investments.
  • Works in collaboration with business units to assess industry/market trends regulatory strategies and to prepare financial comparative data for use in decision making.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum education and experience required of the position

  • Financial Analyst III:4 plus years of business experience in banking finance project development or related fields.
  • Financial Analyst Lead: 5 plus years of business experience in banking finance project development or related fields.
  • Financial Analyst Sr Lead: 6 plus years of business experience in banking finance project development or related fields.
    • MBA is a plus.

Minimum knowledge skills and abilities required of the position

  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office Word PowerPoint Excel and Power BI.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision or within a team environment.
  • Ability to analyze problems and create solutions.
  • Significant knowledge of financial theory and valuation.
  • Ability to understand and solve complex financial transactions.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple time sensitive projects effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Basic knowledge of financial theory and valuation.

Any certificates licenses etc. required for the position

  • Desired: CPA CFA PE or similar certificates / licenses.
