We are recruiting a dedicated Year 5 Teacher for a thriving primary in Slough. The Year 5 Teacher post begins January 2026 with induction and handover scheduled before January 2026 so the Year 5 Teacher can be classroom-ready for the spring term. The Year 5 Teacher will plan sequenced units that develop writing stamina reading comprehension and mathematical reasoning across upper KS2.

About the role
The Year 5 Teacher will lead ambitious lessons run booster and mastery groups and prepare pupils for the expectations of upper KS2. The Year 5 Teacher will use assessment to identify priorities design high-impact interventions and communicate progress clearly to families. Working in Slough the Year 5 Teacher will benefit from collaborative planning time and supportive leadership.
Key responsibilities
Deliver sequenced Year 5 lessons that deepen subject knowledge and reasoning.
Lead targeted small-group tuition to close gaps and accelerate progress.
Use assessment evidence to plan next steps and demonstrate impact across Year 5.
Contribute to phase moderation enrichment and transition planning in Slough.
Maintain strong homeschool communication and support pupils wider development.
Person specification
Qualified teacher with proven upper-KS2/Year 5 experience and demonstrable impact.
Strong planning assessment and behaviour-management skills; collaborative and reflective.
Ready to commence January 2026 and to attend induction and handover before January 2026.
