Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and reliable CNC Swiss Lathe Machinist to join their precision manufacturing team. This role requires setup operation and adjustment of CNC Swiss-style machines with a strong emphasis on accuracy inspection and toolmaking skills. Aerospace machining experience is preferred but not required.
This is a hands-on high-impact role ideal for a machinist who enjoys working independently troubleshooting and producing high-quality precision components.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Setup & Operation
Set up and operate CNC Star Swiss Lathes ensuring machines are configured to perform at full capability.
Read and interpret blueprints customer specifications and detailed part drawings.
Perform G-code edits offsets and tooling changes as needed.
Conduct preventative maintenance to keep machines in optimal condition.
Inspection & Quality Assurance
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections of machined parts.
Use precision measuring tools including:
o Micrometers
o Calipers
o Gauges
o Other inspection instruments
Ensure parts meet tight tolerances and quality standards.
Process Control & Continuous Improvement
Make adjustments to tooling offsets feeds and speeds based on part performance.
Troubleshoot machining issues and resolve production challenges quickly.
Provide input on process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
Collaboration & Independence
Work both independently and as part of a machining team.
Communicate effectively with supervisors engineers and quality teams.
Maintain organized work areas and adhere to all safety protocol
Qualifications
Required
2 years of CNC Swiss Lathe setup experience
2 years operating CNC Swiss machines (Star Swiss preferred)
Ability to read understand and interpret blueprints and customer specifications
Experience inspecting parts using precision measurement tools
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

G-code editing experience

Work Environment
1st shift full-time schedule
On-site manufacturing environment

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $60000 $70000 per year
