Job Description

Track record of taking tough calls while possessing good inter-personal skills

Experience (what type and how much experience are needed)

Overall 20 years of work experience with at least 18 years in a similar industry
Relevant work exposure in raw material procurement and the steel industry

Qualification (what certifications licenses and education level required for the role)

Any Graduate or MBA - M.M with a steel industry background

Key Responsibilities Desired Outcome
Oversee the complete TMT material procurement process of outsourcing plant
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors for TMT products sourcing
Monitor the quality and quantity of Finished TMT products
Source material at a competitive price with minimum logistics cost

Manage profitable material purchases on a day-to-day basis

Establish priorities to support and coordinate with production plant and marketing heads
Ensure materials are properly stacked and booked
Perform fortnightly physical checks of material quantities at plants & outsourcing units.
Liaison and follow up with concerned authorities for procurement of bulk materials
Ability to coordinate with internal departments and external partners

Raw Material Procurement Manager is to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of good-quality raw materials that meet the production needs of the company. This involves developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers negotiating contracts and managing logistics and inventory to ensure that the company always has the necessary materials on hand. The Raw Material Procurement Manager should also monitor market trends and work with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Ultimately the Raw Material Procurement Manager should
be able to optimize the procurement process to ensure that the company is able to meet its production goals while maintaining profitability.

Ensure timely dispatching of materials and FIFO is followed

Efficient maintenance and function of issues related to incoming of materials dispatching and weighing of materials
Coordinate with the team to prepare and submit reports on time
Ensure adequate resources are available to support demand
Use ERP/SAP systems timely correctly regularly and consistently
Continuous learning for self and team members
