Job Description:

The Oregon Military Department is a state agency that supports the Oregon National Guard. You are NOT required to be a member of the Oregon National Guard to apply for this position.

The Oregon Military Department is recruiting for an Electrician 2. This is a permanent full-time state position located at Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls Oregon.

This position is represented by the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union.

What You Will be Doing
Installs inspects maintains troubleshoots repairs and modifies high and low voltage interior and exterior electrical distribution systems and components airfield lighting systems fire alarm systems cathodic protection lightning protection and complies with environmental and safety regulations and practices.

Working Conditions
This position will be subjected to loud noise and dusty working conditions also will require working in adverse conditions in extreme heat and cold. Manual labor is required must be able to walk stand bend and stoop for extended periods of time. Working from ladders and scaffolding at extreme heights may be required. Person assigned must be able to safely work with power tools hand tools and other equipment as well as being able to lift 50 lbs. and carry 70 lbs.

What You Need to Qualify

A General Journeyman Electrical license.

Please be prepared to provide a copy of your Oregon State electricians license upon request.

Preference will be given to candidates that are cathodic protection and lightning protection certified and/or have fire alarm and intrusion alarm experience.

Additional Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.

Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon State Electricians License.

This position is subject to recall to work extra hours as needed.

Requested Skills/Experience
Cathodic protection and lightning protection certified.

Fire Alarm and intrusion alarm experience.

Experience with computer systems that operate building systems.

Conditions of Employment

Must have and maintain a favorable Criminal background History check and be able to obtain and maintain a favorable Department of Defense National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Suitability Determination (T1). (Conviction of a crime will not automatically preclude appointment the circumstances involved in the conviction will be considered).

Obtain and maintain an Air Force line badge. (AF Form 1199). Incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain an AF Form 2293 US Air Force Motor Vehicle Identification Card.


Employee is required to maintain a drug/alcohol free workplace in accordance with OMD Drug/Alcohol CPMs Policies and the Statewide Drug Free Workplace Policy.
