Shipping & Receiving Specialist
We are seeking a capable hands-on individual to independently own and operate our shipping department in a dynamic shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build custom wooden skids crates and boxes using hand and power tools
- Expertly package a wide variety of items (cardboard pallets crates skids) with careful cushioning for maximum protection
- Interpret customer purchase orders and special shipping instructions accurately
- Coordinate with carriers drivers customers and internal teams
- Maintain organized paperwork labeling and shipping records
- Operate forklift (training and certification provided)
- Assist with general shop labor and other physically demanding tasks as needed
The Right Fit
- Comfortable working with wood and tools and building things with your hands
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving decision-making and adaptability
- Highly organized detail-oriented and diligent
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
- Physically capable of lifting building and active work all day
- Valid drivers license in good standing
- Mechanical aptitude and shop experience are a strong plus
What We Offer
- Permanent direct-hire position after successful 90-day introductory period
- No prior shipping experience required we will train the right person
- Day shift: MondayFriday 7:00 AM 3:30 PM (40-hour weeks expected)
- Starting pay $17$19/hr higher considered for strong experience
- Morning break 30-minute lunch
This is not a repetitive warehouse or forklift-only role its a true craft-meets-logistics position for someone who enjoys variety building and taking full ownership of shipping done right.
