URM Stores Inc. is seeking a full-time Transportation Supervisor to join our this role youll play a key part in supporting all day-to-day operations of the Transportation Department. Youll oversee drivers routes deliveries maintenance security safety and other transportation functionsmaking a direct impact on both our divisions performance and our customers experience. The ideal candidate is someone who continually elevates service skillfully manages daily workflows and fosters a forward-thinking innovative team culture.
Position Responsibilities:
- Create and manage daily routing plans and truck schedules.
- Oversee and coordinate maintenance fueling and any specialty equipment needs.
- Schedule vehicle repairs arrange temporary replacements and maintain all required DOT documentation.
- Monitor driver performance to ensure every driver is properly trained and equipped with the skills they need to succeed.
- Support driver training and testing efforts including conducting ride-alongs.
- Champion safety by enforcing accident-prevention standards procedures and best practices.
- Partner in developing and rolling out infrastructure improvements and process guidelines.
- Drive efficiencies within the department and boost performance against key operational metrics.
- Identify opportunities to streamline routing operations and grow back-haul revenue.
- Promote a safety-first culture at every level of the operation.
- Lead performance management practices that encourage growth and development within the team.
- Take part in hiring selection and ongoing employee relations for department staff.
- Complete required documentation including evaluations injury/accident logs and other reports.
- Assist with payroll processing for drivers.
- Plan execute and monitor daily transportation activities including analysis of on-time performance delivery reliability off-load rates and staffing needs.
- Review and schedule routing of equipment and manpower to meet all customer requirementscontractual or otherwise.
- Address equipment failures or breakdowns support drivers with guidance and submit service requests to the leasing/maintenance provider.
- Motivate and support employees through coaching evaluations and effective problem-solving to foster a positive productive work environment.
- Communicate with customers regarding delays delivery issues or other service impacts.
- Supervise staff in a union environment ensuring fair interpretation of rules and handling conflict resolution or disciplinary actions as needed.
Skills & Experiences:
- At least 3 years of experience in transportation operations.
- A valid Class A CDL is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Department of Transportation regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Word and Excel.
- Skilled in managing routing distribution and logistics software systems.
- Able to analyze information assess situations critically and communicate clearly.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating across internal teams and coordinating with external partners.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detailcomfortable managing multiple moving parts and essential paperwork.

- An employees pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including the prevailing minimum wage for the location relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance shift travel requirements and business or organizational needs. Established salary range $28 - $33 an hour DOE plus so much more!
