Looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) and Developer with 6-8 years of hands-on experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases. Candidate is expected to have strong expertise in designing developing and optimizing complex queries including aggregate queries joins and projections with a deep understanding of data normalization principles. A strong specialization in MongoDB Atlas is essential who will lead efforts in managing and scaling cloud-based NoSQL data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design develop and maintain complex database architectures for both SQL (e.g. MS SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (primarily MongoDB & MongoDB Atlas) environments.

Write and optimize aggregate queries joins and projection operations to maximize query performance and efficiency.

Apply advanced normalization techniques to improve data integrity and reduce redundancy.

Manage database security backup and recovery strategies to ensure high availability and data protection.

Lead database migration and replication projects across on-premises and cloud platforms (MongoDB Atlas).

Collaborate with software development teams to design efficient data models and robust query solutions.

Monitor database performance identify bottlenecks and implement remediation strategies.

Develop automated scripts and tools for database maintenance monitoring and optimization.

Provide expert guidance on data governance compliance and best practices related to SQL and NoSQL technologies.

Mentor junior DBAs and developers conducting code and query reviews to ensure quality standards.

Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in database design development and cloud solutions.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.

6-8 years of professional experience as a DBA and database developer focused on SQL and NoSQL databases.

Strong proficiency in MongoDB and MongoDB Atlas including experience designing schemas optimized for aggregation pipelines.

Proven expertise writing complex aggregate queries joins projections and manipulating data structures effectively.

Deep understanding of normalization and denormalization techniques and when to apply each.

Hands-on experience with relational databases such as MS SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL or similar.

Skilled in performance tuning and query optimization across both SQL and NoSQL platforms.

Experience with cloud platforms and database-as-a-service environments especially MongoDB Atlas.

Strong scripting skills (e.g. Python Shell PowerShell) for automation and tooling.

Familiarity with database security best practices backup/restore and disaster recovery planning.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.

Strong communication and collaboration skills with an ability to work effectively both independently and in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualification & Knowledge

MongoDB Certified DBA or Developer certification.

Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus Grafana or MongoDB Ops Manager Kibana.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments.

Familiarity with data modeling tools and visualization platforms.

Knowledge of ElasticSearch including cluster setup index management query DSL relevancy tuning and performance optimization is preferred.
