Role profile:
As a Mechanical Engineer you will get to tackle diverse real-world challenges from the ground up. Typically this will involve going through the whole product life cycle. You will capture requirements; design develop document test and deliver through to production. Awerians wide variety of intriguing projects from proof-of-concept through to working prototypes provide both intellectual and practical challenges.
Using 3D CAD (SolidWorks) youll create and evolve a wide range of designs which may include products assembly jigs test equipment and instrumentation. There will also be opportunities to present proposed solutions through sketches animations and renderings as part of the build testing and troubleshooting process.
Qualifications :
Your background:
You will have a track record of academic excellence hold a relevant degree and have proven technical capabilities with notable experience in several of the following areas:
- Experience with a CAD package preferably Solidworks or other packages such as Catia Creo or AutoCAD.
- Experience in CAD design manufacturing design for manufacture welding and fabrication design.
- Thermal simulation or thermal modelling experience.
- Experience using or basic understanding of PDM (product data manager).
Desirable Requirements include experience in:
- Design for integration with electronics/PCBs.
- Liaison with supply chains to jointly solve technical problems.
- Ruggedised design for challenging environments.
- Miniaturised design for small form factors.
- Active/passive cooling design.
- Additive manufacture.
- Expertise in use of hand tools mechanical build processes.
