Location: South Riding VA 20152
Schedule: MondayFriday 7:45 AM 3:00 PM
Pay Rate:$40 - $45/hr (Local)
Contract Duration: 24 Weeks
Onsite: 100% Onsite

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (Autism K2) to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a structured elementary classroom. The teacher will deliver individualized instruction implement behavior-support strategies and support functional skill development aligned with IEP goals. Collaboration with paraprofessionals therapists and families is essential.

Responsibilities

Provide specialized instruction for students with ASD in a structured classroom setting
Implement IEP-aligned academic and behavioral plans
Utilize evidence-based strategies including ABA-aligned techniques and visual communication supports
Foster communication academic progress and social-emotional development
Collaborate with school staff therapists and families
Maintain a safe positive and consistent learning environment
Complete documentation and participate in IEP meetings

Required Qualifications

Active Special Education teaching certification (or VA-eligible)
Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Knowledge of structured teaching sensory supports and behavior-intervention practices
Strong communication and classroom-management skills
Ability to work onsite MondayFriday

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in early childhood or K2 special education
Familiarity with behavioral and academic data collection
CPI or behavioral safety training
