For more details please view are looking for aProject Officer to support the research development and implementation of 3D construction printing technologies for sustainable building components. This role will contribute directly to NTUs mission of advancing innovative energy-efficient and low-carbon construction solutions for the built environment.
The role will focus on material development printability assessment experimental testing and prototype fabrication using 3D concrete printing systems as well as supporting data collection analysis and documentation required for achieving improved energy performance and reduced environmental footprint in construction applications. The Project Officer will also work closely with the research team to translate laboratory findings into practical scalable building solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the development and optimisation of 3D-printable sustainable building materials including mix design formulation rheology evaluation and printability assessment.
Conduct experimental testing and data collection related to material performance energy efficiency and environmental impact of printed components.
Operate and maintain 3D construction printing equipment ensuring safe consistent and high-quality printing of research prototypes.
Assist in the design fabrication and evaluation of printed building elements including structural and thermal performance studies.
Analyse experimental results and prepare technical documentation including test reports standard operating procedures research journals paper conference papers and research summaries.
Support the implementation of sustainability assessment methods such as life cycle considerations.
Work closely with researchers and students to ensure smooth execution of project milestones and deliverables.
Contribute to the preparation of project presentations publications and grant documentation where required.
Ensure laboratory safety equipment upkeep and adherence to research protocols during all project activities.

Knowledge of cementitious materials concrete technology or materials characterisation techniques.
Hands-on experience with laboratory testing (e.g. rheology mechanical testing mix design preparation).
Familiarity with AI or data-driven tools such as:
machine learning for prediction/modelling
data analytics for material/printing optimisation or
AI-assisted design tools (e.g. generative design parametric modelling).
Basic proficiency in engineering and data software (e.g. Python MATLAB AutoCAD Rhino/Grasshopper).
Understanding of sustainability concepts (LCA) is beneficial.
Experience
Prior experience in materials research construction materials or experimental laboratory work is preferred.
Experience with 3D printing (concrete or polymer-based) or digital fabrication workflows.
Experience in handling equipment troubleshooting machinery or supporting research projects is useful.
