Senior Research Analyst (Security Studies)

Carnegie India is looking to hire a Senior Research Analyst in Security Studies. This is a full-time role at Carnegie Indias office in New Delhi.
The research focuses on Indias role in regional and global security and publishes informed analyses particularly on its relationship with China the securitization of borders and the geopolitics of the Indo-Pacific. It also takes a leading role in organizing Carnegie Indias Security Studies Dialogue an annual event that brings together scholars and practitioners to discuss critical geopolitical issues and Indias policy responses to them.
We aim to continue this focus and the researcher selected for this role should have a strong aptitude for in-depth policy research stakeholder engagement and leadership. We are looking for candidates with 57 years of experience addressing key policy challenges related to Indias foreign and security policies. Preference will be given to candidates with a track record of published sum we seek someone with innovative ideas and a passion for expanding the research scope of Security Studies at Carnegie India. The selected researcher should also be able to collaborate with other members of the team pivot to address ongoing projects that require immediate attention and work with the larger Carnegie India team to organize events as needed.
Candidates should have an advanced degree (masters degree or higher) in international relations strategic studies public policy or related fields with a keen interest in issues related to foreign and security policies; have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with think tanks academic institutions or government bodies; have strong research and organizational skills the ability to work on flexible deadlines and the capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously; be able to work independently as well as part of a team and take an interest in mentoring colleagues; have a demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders within and outside the team; and organise major convenings that cut across verticals and as an experienced role the senior research analyst (SRA) is expected to be agile and take the lead as necessary.
