Position Summary:
The Elementary STEM Teacher creates engaging hands-on learning experiences that integrate science technology engineering and mathematics to build students curiosity problem-solving skills and critical thinking. Using standards-aligned inquiry-based instruction and purposeful technology integration the teacher prepares students for future academic success.
This role also focuses on developing leadership in students by modeling strong character teaching collaboration perseverance communication and responsible decision-making through STEM challenges and real-world problem solving. The STEM Teacher supports campus instructional goals contributes to STEM events and initiatives and fosters a positive innovative school culture.
The ideal candidate is a student-centered growth-minded educator who demonstrates integrity teamwork and a commitment to excellenceboth in teaching STEM content and cultivating leadership qualities in all students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging standards-aligned STEM instruction using inquiry hands-on learning and purposeful technology integration.
Differentiate lessons to meet diverse student needs and use data to adjust instruction for academic growth.
Teach and model leadership skills such as collaboration communication perseverance and responsible decision-making.
Establish a positive structured classroom environment that promotes curiosity safety and high engagement.
Support campus instructional goals by collaborating with grade-level teams participating in PLCs and contributing to STEM initiatives/events.
Maintain accurate records communicate regularly with families and follow all district and state guidelines.
Demonstrate professionalism and a growth mindset through continuous learning and campus leadership.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree in education or related field required.
Valid Texas teaching certificate (EC4 or EC6 certification required).
ESL certification preferred.
Experience:
Successful classroom teaching experience preferred especially in grades 36.
Experience designing and delivering hands-on inquiry-based STEM instruction.
Demonstrated ability to integrate technology and digital tools into instruction.
Proven success in fostering student leadership collaboration and problem-solving skills.
Experience working collaboratively in PLCs leading student groups or contributing to campus initiatives is preferred.
Strong classroom management and ability to build positive relationships with students staff and families.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of STEM content TEKS and inquiry-based instruction.
Ability to design engaging hands-on lessons and integrate technology effectively.
Strong classroom management and differentiation skills.
Ability to teach leadership skills such as collaboration communication and perseverance.
Effective communication teamwork and data-driven decision-making.
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands:Ability to manage multiple data points adapt to student needs and collaborate across grade levels.
Physical Demands:Frequent standing walking and engaging with students in classroom settings; some lifting of materials up to 25 lbs.
Environment:Work is performed in classroom small-group pullout or inclusion settings. May require movement between multiple classrooms or instructional spaces.
