Position Overview

The VMWare Administrator will be responsible for monitoring and managing systems that operate through VMware products and services. The VMware Administrators will ensure the security and stability of VMware networks by running technical control procedures to maintain quality standards. The VMWare Administrator will support administer maintain and sustain VMWare platforms hosted in an enterprise IT environment. The VMWare Administrator will provide technical support for incident response service degradations outages and other interruptions.

Major Activities

Troubleshoot ESX issues related to storage network and performance issues.
In-depth understanding of VMware technologies including vSphere/ESX VMware View vCenter Site Recovery Manager running in enterprise environments.
Manage Active Directory group user and computer objects the AD Schema.
Ensure cyber compliance auditing evidence capture and storage activities.
Administrative and troubleshooting basic knowledge of VMWare platforms.
Windows 2003/2008/2008 R2 Server support and troubleshooting.
Load and deploy new servers.
Create and maintain Windows server images.
Collaborate with engineers and project leads to implement and improve new systems policies standards and practices.
Document server administration processes and procedures.
Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
Perform other duties as appropriate and as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Strong understanding of TCP/IP and network topologies.
General knowledge of systems software hardware and networking protocols.
General knowledge of scripting and automation tools.
General knowledge in and ability to implement IT strategy plans and SOPs.
Ability to provide an outstanding customer service experience.
Ability to work within a team-oriented collaborative environment develop strong working relationships across organizations.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent
Three or more years of experience in VMWare systems administration Virtualization or equivalent
Demonstrated experience working in a 24.7 military or government IT environment
Demonstrated experience in Ports Protocols and Security Measures and scripting and automation tools
Valid Security certification
VCP VACP VCP5 or MCSA certification
Must be US citizen
Must possess active secret security clearance or higher
Must be able to pass pre-employment background check
