Job Overview
Pulse is seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Pharmacist Cancer Services (Band 7) to join the pharmacy team at Weston General Hospital. This role offers an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality clinical pharmacy services within cancer care supporting ward-based activities and ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines. The successful candidate will play a key role in the clinical workflow from medicines reconciliation to discharge facilitation and dispensary duties.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive ward-based clinical pharmacy services including clinical checking and medicines reconciliation.
Undertake clinical checking and processing of discharge prescriptions to support patient flow.
Support dispensary operations including final technical checking in line with competency.
Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team to optimise pharmaceutical care for oncology patients.
Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and organisational standards.
Contribute to service improvement initiatives and maintain high-quality patient-centred care.
Qualifications and Experience
Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Proven experience in ward-based clinical pharmacy.
Confident in clinical checking medicines reconciliation and discharge prescription processing.
Competent in dispensary practice including final technical checking.
Strong communication organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
