As a Technical Service Representative you will provide on-site technical expertise to minimize downtime and ensure equipment operates to Caterpillar OEM standards. Youll build strong customer relationships deliver proactive solutions and support future fleet requirements through technical audits and recommendations.
For this position the expected base salary range is between $115000 and $130000 annually. We also offer additional incentives such as an annual bonus and premium for certain shifts.
Job Description:
- Support customers in the field to reduce downtime and maintain production requirements.
- Schedule and conduct customer visits engaging proactively with site stakeholders.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of parts for planned and unplanned work.
- Perform technical audits and provide analysis reports with recommended service options.
- Rapidly escalate machine-down situations to appropriate teams.
- Recommend safety solutions and identify Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) mitigation strategies.
- Maintain open communication with supporting departments including technical account teams and marketing.
- Build and maintain a technical issue library for continuous improvement.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Conduct on-site inspections and technical audits of Caterpillar equipment.
- Prepare and deliver technical analysis reports to customers and internal teams.
- Coordinate parts and service requirements with Finning departments.
- Respond quickly to urgent machine-down situations.
- Provide safety recommendations and support compliance initiatives.
- Document and track technical issues for future reference.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience in a customer-facing technical service role preferably in mining or heavy equipment industries.
- Direct experience with Caterpillar Haul Trucks and support equipment.
- Strong understanding of mining operations and equipment performance requirements.
- Valid drivers license and satisfactory drivers abstract.
Important:
- This position will be based out of our Prince George shop location.
- Travel will be required for the role.
- Permanent full-time role.
- 14x14 day shift rotation.
- Supporting sites in Alberta and BC.
