One of our manufacturing clients is looking for a PLC Specialist for their facility at Hamilton ON region.
Pay - 80K-120K
Key Responsibilities:
Control Systems & Automation
Install configure maintain and optimize plant control systems including PLC DCS SCADA and HMI platforms.
Troubleshoot issues related to automation equipment sensors actuators and field devices.
Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Instrumentation & Monitoring
Calibrate test and maintain critical instrumentation used for pressure temperature flow vibration and other operational parameters.
Perform real-time monitoring and diagnostics of control loops alarms and system trends.
Maintenance & Technical Support
Provide technical support to plant operations during startup shutdown and normal running conditions.
Respond to equipment failures identify root causes and perform corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Maintain documentation such as logic diagrams controller configurations and system backups.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure all control systems comply with industry standards plant safety requirements and regulatory guidelines.
Support protective relaying interlocks and safety instrumented systems (SIS) as required.
Participate in hazard analysis risk assessments and energy isolation procedures.
Continuous Improvement
Support upgrade projects system migrations and integration of new equipment.
Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for energy efficiency and performance optimization.
Collaborate with engineering maintenance and operations teams to improve system reliability.
Qualifications:
Education:
Diploma or Bachelors degree in Electrical Electronics Controls Instrumentation or related engineering field.
Experience:
3 7 years of hands-on experience with control systems in power plants renewable energy facilities oil & gas or other energy production environments.
Technical Skills:
PLC platforms: Allen-Bradley Siemens Schneider GE Mitsubishi (any relevant).
SCADA/DCS experience (e.g. ABB Emerson Honeywell Yokogawa).
Strong knowledge of instrumentation control loops and industrial communication protocols (Modbus Profibus Ethernet/IP etc.).
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings P&IDs and logic diagrams.
