Title: Accounting Manager (On-Site)
Job type: Full-time/ Permanent
Location: Scarborough Ontario
Pay Rate: $120k - 125k/yearly
Years of exp: 6 Years of Experience minimum
Key Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP IFRS and financial regulations. / Experience with tax compliance and corporate governance.
- Proficient in accounting software (financial interfaces with Oracle / SAP or similar) and strong user of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data and present findings clearly and concisely and being detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize deadlines.
- Understand intercompany reconciliation & multi-branch accounting & in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
- Exposure to Hedge Accounting and Foreign exchange transactions.
Key Responsibilities: Month-End & Year-End Close:
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
- Review journal entries account reconciliations and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
- Review the monthly GST/HST/PST/QST Tax filings / Assist with CRA audits
- Coordinate the preparation of tax filing packages and support the annual & quarterly audit process
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of various financial reporting requirements for management & internal stakeholders.
- Produce financial analysis to identify variances trends and areas for improvement.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Recommend process improvements and controls as needed.
- Maintaining a strong system of internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting & protect company assets.
- Stay on top of compliance with accounting regulations internal policies and industry standards.
Leadership & Supervisory Skills:
- Lead mentor and develop the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting activities.
- Give guidance on accounting issues while ensuring your team adheres to internal policies and accounting principles.
