About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated EHS professional to support Environment Health & Safety initiatives across our biopharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D operations. The role involves ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements driving a strong safety culture and implementing world-class EHS systems aligned with global standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. EHS Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with national and state regulations (CPCB SPCB Factories Act GxP guidelines).
Maintain and update all statutory documents licenses permits and reports.
Prepare and submit environmental reports incident reports and compliance records.
2. Safety Management
Conduct risk assessments HAZOP JSA and workplace safety inspections.
Lead incident/accident investigations with root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
Promote safe work practices across production QC R&D warehouses and utilities.
3. Environmental Management
Monitor and manage waste disposal (biohazard chemical ETP/STP hazardous waste).
Ensure continuous compliance of emissions effluents and environmental monitoring.
Drive sustainability initiatives and resource conservation programs.
4. Employee Health & Industrial Hygiene
Support occupational health programs PPE compliance ergonomic assessments.
Conduct exposure monitoring for chemicals fumes and biological hazards.
Coordinate with OHC (Occupational Health Centre).
5. Training & Culture Building
Conduct regular EHS trainings: GMP safety biosafety fire safety emergency preparedness.
Drive awareness campaigns to build a strong safety culture across the site.
Develop training materials and assess training effectiveness.
6. Emergency Preparedness
Maintain the onsite emergency plan fire protection systems and mock drills.
Coordinate emergency response teams and ensure readiness.
7. Stakeholder Coordination
Work closely with Production Engineering QA QC and R&D teams.
Coordinate with government authorities during audits/inspections.
Manage vendors related to waste management PPE and safety systems.
Qualifications & Experience
/ / / in Environmental Science / Industrial Safety / Chemistry / Biotechnology / Engineering.
Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS / PDIS) preferred.
2–12 years of EHS experience in biopharma/pharma/API/chemical manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of statutory compliances biosafety levels and GMP environments.
