This position serves as a manager over all phases of a regional Pre-classification/ARDC Classification program Records Management Section the IMPACT program statewide or the Louisiana Parole Violator/Extradition program nationwide.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of the required experience in the following minimum qualifications must have been in offender records analysis offender classification or offender pre-classification:
Seven years of experience in offender records analysis offender classification offender pre-classification security or social services or as a probation or parole officer; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in offender records analysis offender classification offender pre-classification probation and parole security or social services; OR
A bachelors degree plus four years of experience in offender records analysis offender classification offender pre-classification probation and parole security or social services; OR
An advanced degree in a social science or social work or a juris doctorate plus three years of experience in offender records analysis offender classification offender pre-classification probation and parole security or social services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Manage regional Pre-classification/ARDC classification program formulates policies and procedures and serves as liaison on all classification program matters between institution and regional area of responsibility and other classification regions.
- Directs and monitors the process which ensures the proper reception housing and timely processing of transient inmates at All Reception and Diagnostic Centers (ARDC) ensuring that appropriate institutional assignments and quotas are being met.
Manage the inmate transfer process by controlling all scheduling and transfers of inter-institutional and parish jail movements in conjunction with available bed space capacities and special needs of facilities and inmates.

Appointment Type: DETAIL OF A permanent classified employee of LA DPS&C - CORRECTIONS SERVICES (Adult DOC)
- An employee selected for detail may be permanently promoted to this position if the position becomes available.
