Our camps are located in remote areas and staff liveon-site (meals and accommodation included) on scheduled shifts and leave campon scheduled breaks. A typical shiftschedule is any of the following: 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off or 3 weeks on and 1week off. Most of our LandSea camps offer individual staffaccommodation ensuite or shared bathroom full meals WIFI and some havehealth/gym facilities for staff. We provide partial uniforms and help with thetravel/reservations as needed to and from camp locations. Camp staff work long hours and multiple days in a row. Atypical workday is between 10-12 hours (day or night shift) and overtime ratesapply. Health and Wellness benefits are offered after three months. Health and Safety and a Respectful Workplace are essentialfor everyone working together at LandSea. Our camps are drug and alcohol-freeworkplaces and some require pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. All newstaff are required to complete pre-employment onboarding orientations. Job Qualifications
- Minimum 4 yearsexperience in a related field of work; preferably a large camp cateringenvironment
- 3 or more yearsexperience in a managerial role
- Completion of basicFirst Aid basic and advanced Food Safe training WHMIS HCCAP (Hazard AnalysisCritical Control Points) Travel Restraint Transport of Dangerous GoodsAccident Investigation and Health and Safety Training
- Knowledge of CampManager Database programs and retail Point of Sale systems
- Excellentinterpersonal verbal and written communication skills
- Strong decision makingand delegation skills
- Strong knowledge andexperience with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook Excel and Word
- Superior organizationand time management skills
- Team player and canprovide support motivation and encouragement to others
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Technical/Operational
- Ability of administerand receive constructive feedback from both clients and LandSea employees
- Ensure all paperwork iscompleted in a timely and accurate manner and submitted to the OperationsDepartment as per the required timelines
- Daily submission ofCamp Manager reports such as P&L statements commissary paperworkpurchasing and receiving inventory and kitchen reports. Also update campnumbers to ensure adequate qualified employees
- Ensure completion andaccuracy of all camp-related employee paperwork including staff change formsincident reports performance management and evaluation forms WCB forms(injury reporting package) and timesheets
- Oversee the cleaning ofaccommodation units and equipment as per LandSea cleaning schedule and FoodSafe standards
- Facilitate safetymeetings (using the Daily Toolbox Meeting form) on the 1st and 15th of eachmonth ensuring that all staff report accidents safety concerns and workhazards. Meeting minutes should be forwarded to LandSea Head Office
- Maintain constantcommunication with Head Office staff regarding concerns with personnel foodequipment and shut downs etc.
- Ensure all food itemsare properly stored served and discarded as per HACCP and Food Safe standards
- Counsel/coach employeesas required and involve the Catering Recruitment team as necessary to providedirection on disciplinary matters where appropriate
Financial / Fiscal
- Oversee portioning offood items in accordance to client contract and Landsea Policies Proceduresand Best Practices to ensure food costs and product inventory are kept withinbudget
- Ensure meal sheets arefilled out neatly and accurately and ensure that the client and Chef sign eachsheet
- Submit client and thirdparty meal sheets each week including customer/client name Camp number andlocation with legal land description number
- Provide time sheets tothe Head office each Sunday ensuring staff initial hours worked
- Schedule inventory ofall kitchen products (usually at the end of each week and each month end)including the submission of inventory reports to the Head office within 3 daysand a follow-up call to the Head office to verify receipt of the reports
- Inventory meat productsto match the facility menu plan for the week ensuring that each inventorysheet contains the following information: weight measurement and size ofitems inventory date facility name and location
General / Management:
- Assist with informationgathering as it relates to incident investigation
- Facilitate dailymeetings with Senior Camp Attendant and Chef to discuss delegation of tasks toensure required work is completed in a timely manner
- Maintain ongoingcommunication and working rapport with all LandSea customers/clients ensuringthe customer or client is satisfied with overall service cleanliness andmaintenance of our facilities
- Oversee all campoperations including start-ups and shutdowns operational administrative andmaintenance duties budgetary responsibilities and overall client satisfaction
- Assist in thetraining of catering staff in remote camp locations providing coachingmentoring and support to all employees
