Job Summary:
- Provide state-of-the-art system administration solutions and support for hardware and software platforms to include Government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) and COTS applications that reside on them. The GOTS/COTS hardware/software supported include:
- application servers
- web servers
- print servers
- virtual file servers
- reporting tools etc. and
- all tasks associated with their backup/recovery performance and operations.
- Responsible for installing configuring and maintaining operating system workstations and servers including patching and remediating system vulnerabilities.
- Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
- Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Assist in Configuration Control Board (CCB) documents for technical accuracy and make corrections if needed (e.g. Network Architecture Drawing CCB Questionnaire)
- Facilitate new system upgrades and/or hardware refreshes for equipment.
- Act as the technical SME during implementations.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow for ticket tracking is required.

- Strong analytical skills.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as foster a cohesive team environment.
- Good communication skills both oral and written. As this position requires working with colleagues across the IT department as well as clients to fully understand the clients needs.
- Ability to interface with high-level government/military personnel and proactively translate and document high-level business needs into functional requirements.
- Demonstrated success operating in either an enterprise-level corporate or military headquarters environment.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelors degree in engineering computer science other technical field or 5 years of relevant technical experience.
- 2 years of system administration.
Certification(s):
Must be DOD 8140/ 8570 Compliant (e.g. Security CE and MS Windows Server 2012 or higher)
Clearance:
Must have a Confidential security clearance and be able to maintain.
Nice to have:
Knowledge of DoD EHR (MHS Genesis) Enterprise Blood Management System DII Magnetic Resonance Venography device Anatomic Pathology Laboratory Information System Pyxis ES System Pyxis CII Safe Pyxis MedStation ScriptPro Intellicab System (GSL) patient queuing system Q-Flow and/or Innovian.
