CONSTRUCTIONFOREMAN JETTING CREW
RFNOW Inc. is seeking applications from motivated individualsinterested in helping lead our crews on our Construction and MaintenanceTeam. Our Construction Foreman Jetting Crew willdemonstrate hands-on leadership for our Jetting Crews on individual worksitesacross the region by role-modelling safe and efficient work processesassigning tasks providing training and problem-solving. They will provide day-to-day coaching and guidanceto our operators and labourers who are integral in the efficient preparation constructionand installation of our fibreoptic infrastructure.
General Responsibilities:
- Responsiblefor supervising Jetting Crew and ensuring crew responsibilities are beingcompleted.
- Ensurefibre optic cable is being jetted into rural and town builds.
- Readjob plans and locates.
- Problem-solvingand coordinating daily activities on construction sites to ensure quality andefficient operations
- Planningto ensure required materials are on site and there are sufficient manpowerrequirements to handle mechanical issues or work scope changes.
- Communicatewith the Superintendent about work activities workflow or any issues discovered throughdaily job planning.
- Completeand submit daily production reports: including but not limited to as-built andquality control documents ground disturbance checklists truck and equipmentpre-trips.
- Mentornew and existing workers on construction best practices and promote a cultureof safety.
- Facilitatecommunication with crew members through Toolbox meetings Safety Memos andmentorship.
- EnsureRFNOW and MB/SK OH&S standards policies and procedures are understood andfollowed by all employees.
- Ensureall incidents are reported (near misses property damage injuriesenvironmental etc.) before the end of the shift.
- SuccessfullyInteract with consumers and the public on a daily basis.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previousfield construction experience is required.
- Knowledgeof jetting equipment compressors and mini-hoe
- Experiencereading job plans and utility locates to ensure approvals for builds
- Supervisoryexperience and knowledge of the telecom industry are both assets.
- Excellentverbal and written communication skills.
- Experiencewith heavy equipment for underground construction (backhoe cats drilling hydrovac) would be considered an asset but willing to train suitable applicants
Requirements:
- Abilityto lift more than 50 lbs.
- Abilityto spend the majority of the day standing and/or walking.
- Willingnessand ability to travel Monday to Friday throughout MB and SK
- Willingnessto work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Abilityto lead and maintain a respectful working environment for your team.
- Musthave a minimum valid Class 3 license. Class 1 is preferred.
- Workingout of town and in remote locations on a regular basis
Job Details:
- Full-timeMonday to Friday
- $32.50- $40.00/hr depending on experience
