Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades building maintenance maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR

Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction construction technology or engineering; OR

Twelve semester hours in construction management construction technology or engineering or any combination of these courses.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Conduct general repairs across 10 buildings including facilities appliances and operational equipment.

  • Perform automotive electrical and carpentry tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Repair and adjust appliances; replace parts as needed.

  • Work independently or with lower-level staff to complete assigned objectives.

  • Inspect equipment requiring high-cost repairs and recommend solutions.

  • Assist with welding blueprint interpretation field repair techniques and communications equipment.

  • Operate heavy-duty vehicles and specialized equipment unique to campus operations.

  • Apply extensive knowledge of groundskeeping and chemical maintenance products.

  • Perform routine lawn care and landscaping tasks.

  • Carry out custodial duties and occasionally interact with the public.

  • Complete additional assignments as directed by supervisory personnel.

Work Location: This vacancy is located at Acadiana Center for Youth in Bunkie Louisiana.
