TheFonoudi Laboratoryin the Department of Pediatrics atEmory University School of Medicineis seeking a highly motivated and creativePostdoctoral Research Fellowto join our growing team. Our lab focuses on developing advanced human cardiac organoid systems to uncover the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying congenital and acquired cardiovascular diseases.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of stem cell biology cardiovascular development and translational disease modeling using cutting-edge technologies such as:
- Human iPSC culture and directed cardiac differentiation
- Multicellular cardiac organoid engineering
- 3D bioprinting
- CRISPR-based genome editing
- Single-cell transcriptomics and spatial omics
- Advanced imaging and quantitative image analysis
- Functional assays for cardiac physiology and cellcell interactions
This position offers a unique opportunity to lead high-impact research projects contribute to manuscripts in top-tier journals and develop an independent scientific vision within a highly collaborative environment. The lab is embedded within a vibrant scientific community at Emory providing exceptional access to core facilities clinical collaborators and career development resources.
Qualifications:
- PhD or MD/PhD in stem cell biology developmental biology bioengineering cardiovascular biology or a related field
- Strong track record of research productivity
- Experience with iPSCs organoids 3D bioprinting CRISPR-based genome editing or cardiac biology is highly desirable
- Excellent communication teamwork and problem-solving skills
