Job Summary
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Mid-Level Transport Modeller and Planner to support the Qatar Public Transport Master Plan (QPTMP). The candidate will work closely with the Modelling Lead to enhance and validate the updated transport model ensuring it accurately reflects current and future mobility scenarios. Strong expertise in VISUM and transport modelling is essential along with a solid background in multimodal public transport planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Modelling Lead to enhance update and validate the QPTMP transport model.
- Use the updated model to develop detailed demand forecasts scenario testing and network performance analysis.
- Integrate modelling outputs with GIS and other planning tools to improve first/last-mile connectivity and park-and-ride solutions.
- Assist in the preparation of high-quality technical reports presentations and master plan deliverables.
- Provide input on network design service planning and operational performance based on model results.
- Support multimodal planning for metro bus BRT/tram DRT and emerging mobility modes.
- Mentor junior modellers and contribute to knowledge transfer within the team.
- Ensure modelling approaches align with international best practice while reflecting Qatar/GCC-specific conditions.
Qualifications :
- 1015 years of experience in transport planning and modelling.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience using VISUM.
- Strong background in transport modelling scenario analysis and demand forecasting
- Experience in multimodal public transport planning and network/service design.
- Familiarity with GIS integration and other modelling tools is a plus.
- Proven track record in national or regional transport/master planning projects.
- Strong communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
- Masters degree in Transport Planning and Modelling Civil Engineering or related discipline (PhD is a plus).
