The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer to support our Loadable Software Engineering team located in Seattle or Everett Washington. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Software Engineering organization.
The ideal candidate is passionate about creating and maintaining a secure operating environment across various cloud service providers. By leveraging automation technologies you will help build and sustain infrastructure computing systems and applications through a robust DevSecOps pipeline. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior Level Software Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Design implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build test and deployment processes for COTS and custom-built applications
Integrate DevSecOps tools to automate security checks and vulnerability assessments within the CI/CD pipeline
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development security operations and product teams to ensure security is embedded in all phases of the application lifecycle
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior Software Developers and DevSecOps Engineers promoting best practices in automation security and cloud operations
Enhance operational security by implementing robust monitoring logging and alerting systems
Participate in Agile SAFE ceremonies providing input on security and automation best practices
Strong understanding of networking and network security concepts
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CI/CD processes security tools and operational security
Provide training and guidance to teams on CI/CD DevSecOps and operational security best practices
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements through automated checks and controls
Document and maintain CI/CD workflows security protocols and operational procedures
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
5 years of experience with Development Operations (DevOps)
5 years of experience with GitLab DevOps tools (ADO and/or AWS) and CI/CD pipelines automation and deployment
5 years of experience with cloud-platform technologies (AWS Azure GCP)
5 years of experience with networking basics (VPCs subnets routing load balancers DNS etc.)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science.
Level 3: 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Level 4: 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Current certifications such as Azure Certified DevOps Engineer CISSP or Docker Certified Associate
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform CloudFormation)
Experience with containerization and cloud orchestration tools (Tanzu OpenShift Kubernetes Docker)
Experience implementing monitoring logging and alerting (e.g. Prometheus Grafana ELK/EFK Splunk etc.)
Experience in integrating security tools like SAST DAST and vulnerability scanners into CI/CD pipelines
Experience with Infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform) and automation tools (e.g. Puppet Ansible Chef etc.)
Experience with security frameworks and standards (e.g. NIST 800-53)
Experience with network security and intrusion detection/prevention systems
Experience with serverless architectures and associated security challenges
Experience with scripting programming languages such as Python Bash or similar
