Job Summary

The Behavioral-Health Clinician provides assessment therapy crisis intervention and case coordination for individuals experiencing mental-health and/or substance-use concerns. This role delivers evidence-based treatment collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and supports clients in developing skills to improve emotional psychological and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive intakes mental-health assessments risk evaluations and diagnostic formulations using DSM-5 criteria.

  • Provide individual group and/or family therapy using evidence-based modalities (CBT DBT MI trauma-informed care etc.).

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and update them regularly.

  • Deliver crisis intervention safety planning and de-escalation during psychiatric or emotional emergencies.

  • Coordinate care with psychiatrists nurses case managers primary-care providers and community partners.

  • Monitor client progress evaluate treatment effectiveness and maintain timely clinical documentation.

  • Support clients in accessing community resources such as housing employment and peer-support services.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings case consultations and internal trainings.

  • Maintain compliance with agency policies confidentiality standards and regulatory requirements (HIPAA state regulations).

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Social Work Mental-Health Counseling Psychology Marriage & Family Therapy or related field.

  • Current state license or licensure-eligible (e.g. LCSW LMHC LPC LMFT or equivalent).

  • Experience in behavioral health clinical assessment and therapeutic interventions.

  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care cultural humility and recovery-oriented practices.

  • Excellent communication documentation and crisis-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities.

  • Certification or experience in specialized areas (e.g. substance use trauma therapy children/adolescents co-occurring disorders).

  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

  • Experience in community-based outpatient or residential behavioral-health settings.
