Grocery Store Manager Job Galway

My client is a successful and thriving retail convenience forecourt shop located east of Galway city and 40 minutes drive from Ennis also. They are a well-established retailer in the area with a strong team in place already. They have key staff acting as Supervisors and chargehands and now the retail operator is seeking an experienced manager to come lead and drive this store on further.

This is a very autonomous role with little input from the operators only a 3rd party consultant and brand representatives here to support.
We are seeking a store manager with a track record leading their own team supporting and coaching their staff who can deliver on commercial objectives like waste margin and labour targets. You must be also comfortable making decisions and will be a professional ambassador for the store.

If you are a Store Manager looking for a new challenge into 2026 this could be an ideal job. This is a busy retail shop with roughly 20 staff high turnover store with a strong deli trade also.

Salary will DOE in the region of 50000 base including bonus.

Responsibilities for this Retail Store Manager Job:

• Ensure the site runs efficiently and smoothly.
• Ensuring the store reaches maximum profitability sales and achieves other financial objectives like controlling waste shrink labour
• Ensuring your team demonstrates excellent standards in merchandising customer service and hygiene that reflects well on the groups reputation
• Managing all HR H&S related queries ensuring your retail shop is compliant with all these matters.

Requirements for this Retail Store Manager Job:

• Must be a proven and experienced Retail Grocery Store Manager in a similar retail food environment
• Excellent organisation and leadership skills are a must must possess the ability to lead and motivate teams under them such as deli chargehands Assistant Managers and Supervisors and other senior staff.
• Commercially astute looking for opportunities to increase revenue by knowing the retail landscape and managing costs effectively and using your supplier network to your advantage.
• Must have a proven track record in a fresh food retail shop managing a store and can deliver on commercial objectives
• Working knowledge of Labour Law Health & Safety regulations HACCP and Consumer Law
