About The Role
We are seeking an Animal Technical Officer to support our large animal research facilities ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) principles. This role is integral to the success of our preclinical research programs and offers the opportunity to work alongside leading scientists and clinicians.


What Youll Do

  • Provide daily care and husbandry for sheep including feeding housing cleaning and health monitoring.
  • Assist with experimental procedures including injections pre- and post-surgery support and echocardiography.
  • Maintain compliance with GLP regulations animal ethics and institutional policies.
  • Keep accurate records of animal monitoring treatments and facility operations.
  • Collaborate with researchers veterinarians and commercial clients to ensure effective and ethical research practices.
  • Maintain laboratory environments equipment and consumables.
  • Provide training and technical support to staff and students.

About You

  • Degree or Diploma in Animal Science/Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in large animal husbandry and research facilities preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of animal welfare regulations and GLP compliance.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with strong communication skills.
  • Commitment to animal welfare and continuous learning.
