Job Description:
As such Direct Medics are working in partnership with a client in County Kildare to find an experienced and dedicated Locum Senior Psychologist who will be providing a comprehensive specialist Intellectual Disability Services.
Key Skills:
- Positive Behaviour Support (assessment -functional assessment analysis of ABCs etc. development of behavioural interventions and report writing; implementation of recommendations with teams and families and review of recommendations).
- Dementia Assessment (experience in a variety of direct and indirect dementia assessment tools for the above population group) and interventions approaches and management (BPSD)
- Therapeutic interventions for above population group in relation to a variety of mental health difficulties mood disorders OCD PTSD complex trauma ADHD etc
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with experience working with front line staff teams families and MDT
This will be a temporary position required for a maximum of 9 days (7 hrs per day) per week for the following period: 5th of January to the 27th of March 2026. Hours would be 9am 5pm Monday to Friday.
Essential Requirements
- Hold an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification (Doctorate) accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (or equivalent)
- At least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of
professional psychology in ROI/EU & currently employed in a named publically funded psychological service - Full UK/ROI Drivers License and Access to a car on appointment
- Right to live and work in the UK/Ireland
