Responsibilities
Install troubleshoot and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with NEC codes and industry standards
Read and interpret blueprints schematics and system design documents to accurately execute installations and repairs
Utilize CAD software for system layout planning when required
Conduct construction inspections to verify proper installation of fire alarm components including sensors control panels and wiring
Perform testing of fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards
Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to integrate fire alarm systems seamlessly
Install program and test fire alarm systems (conventional & addressable)
Program & troubleshoot devices
Wire and program panels NACs SLC devices detectors modules and pull stations
Work directly with electrical contractors and trade partners on active job sites
Read and interpret plans riser diagrams and spec sheets
Perform inspections and final testing/acceptance
Train end users when projects are complete
Maintain a clean safe and professional work environment
Requirements
Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or Service Technician in fire alarm system installation and maintenance
Strong electrical experience with a focus on low voltage wiring and circuitry
Knowledge of schematics system design principles and blueprints related to fire alarm systems
Experience with fire alarm systems (installation service or inspections)
Valid drivers license and clean driving record
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with contractors engineers and site supervisors
Ability to travel occasionally (overnights when required)
Positive self-motivated and able to work independently or on a team
Strong communication skills for working with clients contractors and team members
Preferred Qualifications
NICET I III in Fire Alarm Systems (preferred)
Low-voltage or electrical experience
Project management experience
Security system experience (bonus)
Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn
Higher education or relevant certifications
