The Sr. Business Analyst will play an important role in understanding cross-functional stakeholder needs facilitating the negotiation of requirements amongst these stakeholders identifying the current- and future-state business processes and systems helping the business stakeholders envision the future and how their work will need to change to support the future creating analyzing and validating detailed functional specifications facilitating design sessions with the development team to define the solution and delivering elements of systems design including data migration rules business rules wireframes or other detailed deliverables.
A Sr. Business Analyst will have 4-6 years of practical experience as an analyst with repeated practice performing business analysis in various complex situations or comparable working experience. A Sr. Business Analyst will know which techniques to use influence the desired outcome on a project assess and manage risk and define change strategy. A person in this role works independently and may plan supervise or lead the work of others on large projects and work efforts.
Essential Functions

Collaborates with key business partners to support business operations and understand how current and future business processes and systems enhancements may improve business processes and productivity.
Elicits gathers creates and documents business requirements in the project lifecycle.
Identifies defines and documents new business process workflows using industry-standard analysis approaches.
Manages requirements and documentation needs for complex projects and programs.
Develops business needs analysis documentation for project and development teams and participates in various data and requirement analysis stages as part of the project lifecycle.
Works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure coordination of efforts timing priority and impact on assigned projects.
Collaborates with Mass General Brigham Health Plan stakeholders vendors and/or consultants to ensure timely cost-effective project delivery.
Works within project deadlines and schedules and manages multiple competing priorities.
Communicates effectively with end-users to convey schedules dates priorities business needs and project-related information; escalates issues as needed.
Anticipates and meets or exceeds internal and/or external customer expectations and requirements; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.
Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments.
Persists in accomplishing objectives to achieve results despite any obstacles or setbacks that arise consistently.
Builds strong relationships and infrastructures that designate Mass General Brigham Health Plan as a people-first organization.

Education
- Bachelors degree required; experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree
Licenses and Certification
- Professional Business Analyst certification preferred
Experience
- At least 5-7 years of experience in the development support or operation of software applications preferably in a healthcare setting
- At least 2-3 years of experience with project management leading small project teams and projects preferred
- At least 4-6 years of working experience as a Business Analyst in the health insurance field highly preferred
- Experience working in Medicare Medicaid Duals and Commercial lines of business preferred
- Healthcare domain knowledge Claims Processing Financial Systems and/or Healthcare Information Technology experience preferred
- Microsoft Office Suite and analysis tools (Visio Word Excel and SharePoint) preferred
- Strong understanding of industry-standard Business Analysis techniques preferred
- Comprehensive working knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) preferred
- Strong processes and data analysis skills preferred
- Ability to gather analyze and document requirements from business users and relay information to project teams for systems and/or business process development preferred
- Experience creating workflows user stories and post-production support documentation preferred
- Ability to conduct impact assessments of new requirements on an existing business process preferred

- This is a remote role that can be done from most US states
- Remote employee must work from a stable secure and compliant workstation in a quiet environment. Teams video is required and must be accessed using MGB-provided equipment. The interview process will also require Teams Video access.
