Job Summary
Job Description: Spray Painter (Qatar)
Job Purpose
The Spray Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces mixing paints and applying coatings using spray equipment to achieve high-quality finishes on materials structures or equipment. The role requires attention to detail knowledge of surface preparation and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Read and understand painting specifications color codes and instructions.
Prepare surfaces by cleaning sanding grinding masking and priming.
Mix paints primers thinners and coatings according to required ratios.
Use spray guns airless sprayers and other painting tools to apply coatings on metals structures vehicles or equipment.
Ensure even coating proper thickness and smooth finish as per specification.
Apply primer undercoat topcoat epoxy polyurethane and other industrial coatings as required.
Inspect painted surfaces for defects such as runs bumps orange peel or uneven coating and correct as needed.
Maintain painting tools spray booths compressors and equipment in good working condition.
Follow all safety protocols proper PPE use and ventilation procedures.
Prepare daily reports and communicate material shortages or equipment issues to supervisors.
Assist with touch-up painting repair coatings and rework when required.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of spray-painting techniques and surface preparation.
Familiarity with industrial coatings such as epoxy enamel polyurethane and corrosion-resistant paint.
Good understanding of color mixing and coating thickness requirements.
Ability to use and maintain spray guns compressors and painting equipment.
Attention to detail and high-quality finishing skills.
Knowledge of safety procedures for working with chemicals and flammable materials.
Qualifications & Experience
Certificate or training in Spray Painting / Industrial Painting (preferred).
25 years of experience as a spray painter (Gulf experience is a plus).
Experience in industrial automotive construction or oil & gas painting environments.
Knowledge of surface preparation standards (e.g. SA 2.5 for industrial blasting/painting) is an advantage.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in hot or confined environments (as required).
Can stand for long periods and handle painting equipment.
No allergies or sensitivity to chemicals paint fumes or solvents.
