The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent preparation to teach courses in Colonial and Modern Latin America including courses that reflect the candidates area(s) of specialization which will contribute to the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Program and other relevant interdisciplinary programs (such as Gender Sexuality & Womens Studies Environmental Science Policy & Engineering and/or Africana Studies) as well as the Colleges General Education curriculum. The ability to teach pre-Columbian indigenous and/or global history is highly desirable. The normal teaching load at Union College is six courses over three trimesters; the candidate would be expected to offer courses ranging from the introductory level to junior seminars and to supervise senior projects. Ph.D. in History or closely related field required at time of appointment (September 1 2026).

Compensation:
The annual salary range for this position is $68500-$70500. Except for roles with a set rate of pay the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to departmental budgets qualifications experience education licenses specialty and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the Colleges good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
