NEBH Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR) Full Time

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES(including but not limited to):

The registered nurse systematically and continuously collects and assesses data in collaboration with the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic carewiththe patient and family.

• Establishes an in-depthdata baseby assessing the behavioral and physiologic status of the patientutilizinginterview observation physical examination and other availabledata.

• Integrates nursing interventions into theinterprofessionalplan of care incorporatingappropriate standardsof care andpractice and patient outcomes.

• Implements safe competent andefficientpatient and family care within policies procedures and standards and interventions as noted on the interprofessionalplan of care.

• Sets priorities adapting to changing patient and unit/clinic response to dataindicatingurgent and/or emergent risktopatient initiates action to reduce or correct risk.

• Assumesresponsibilityandaccountabilityforeffectivelymanagingnursingcare ofindividualpatients/familiesasateammember.

• Documents the nursing process to reflect a comprehensive and integrated approach to patient and familycare.

• Evaluatespatientsresponses tocarebasedoneffectivenessofnursinginterventions/actionsinrelationshiptoestablishedoutcomesandconsultswithMedicalStaff Surgical Team Hospitalist TeamClinical Leader CaseManagerand Rehabilitation Teamregardingclinicalvariancesandrecommendedchangestotheplanofcare.

• Identifieslearningneedsofpatients/familiesandteachesbyadaptingstandardinformationtoprovideindividualizedand comprehensiveteaching and learning.

Quality and Patient Safety

• The registered nurse systematically and continuously collects and assesses data in collaboration with the interprofessional team tomonitoroutcomes of care processes.

• Use improvement methods to design and test changes to continuously improve the quality and safety of healthcare systems.

• Performs services in compliance with established practice standards policies procedures protocols guidelinesstatutesand regulations

• Participates in hospital and/or unit-based patient safety and quality activities and uses principles to support and improve patient outcomes.

• Minimize risk of harm to patients and providers through both system effectiveness and individual performance.

• Demonstrates professional commitment andis responsible forensuring patient safety.

• The registered nurse considers factors related to safety effectiveness and cost in planning and delivering care. The registered nursedemonstratesknowledge of care deliverysystemas interprofessional and multifaceted with a variety of entry and access points alongthe care continuum.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• MA RN License

• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Crosspreferred

• ACLS Certificationfrom the American Heart Association or American Red Crosspreferred

• Experience working at a teaching hospital and/or specialty areaexpertise

EDUCATION:

• Bachelors Degree

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• 0-1 year of experience
