The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer I plays a key role in supporting Click Bonds operations by contributing to the design deployment and continuous improvement of instrumentation and controls systems across facilities production equipment and IT systems. This role is integral to the implementation and ongoing support of a campus-wide SCADA system (Ignition) ensuring minimal downtime efficient asset utilization and quality product delivery. The Engineer I will collaborate with teams across the business to install commission and maintain instrumentation automation systems and related equipment while assisting with preventive and emergency maintenance efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design Install and Maintain: Specification installation configuration calibration and maintenance of process control systems and instrumentation elements.
SCADA and PLC Programming: Assist with the setup and programming of SCADA platforms (Ignition) and PLC-based control systems including developing and modifying HMI programs.
System Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical equipment and control systems ensuring effective troubleshooting and system optimization.
Sensor Deployment and Monitoring: Support the deployment of sensor technology for Facilities monitoring predictive maintenance (PdM) and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) data acquisition.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (Facilities IT Machine Development Manufacturing Engineering) to support the installation commissioning and support of automated systems and instrumentation.
Regularly collaborate with cross-functional teams (Facilities IT Engineering Manufacturing) to implement new systems upgrades and process improvements in a timely and efficient manner.
Be proactive in sharing project progress technical challenges and solution strategies with other teams to ensure alignment with overall company goals.
Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Perform regular inspections calibrations and maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and improve system performance.
Technical Documentation: Record and report operational data as well as create and maintain system documentation and work procedures.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
Participate in ongoing training programs to remain current on industry standards and emerging technologies.
Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and ensure compliance with industry standards including OSHA regulations National Electric Codes and other relevant safety protocols.

Qualifications:
Technical Skills:Familiarity with SCADA systems (Ignition preferred) PLC programming and HMI development. Experience with Allen-Bradley Siemens Mitsubishi Omron or Schneider Electric PLCs is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechatronics or a related technical field or equivalent work experience required.
Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in instrumentation and controls systems with hands-on involvement in SCADA PLC programming and system troubleshooting. Relevant internships or co-op experience will be considered. Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly desirable.
Certification in SCADA systems (Ignition or similar) is highly preferred.
Certification in the Cybersecurity field a plus
