TheDepartment of EnterpriseServices Customer Services Division is seeking a Cashier I for the Neal S. Blaisdell Center and Waikiki Shell in Honolulu. Join our team and support the direct sale of tickets for paid and contracted events at both venues box offices. Help guests begin their memorable event experience by providing excellent customer service in person and over the phone.

As a Box Office Team Member You Will:
  • Sell tickets and process payments using the Box Office ticketing system.
  • Provide friendly accurate information about events seating and ticket refund policies.
  • Answer telephone calls and assist guests with box office questions and concerns.
  • Drive between Blaisdell Center and the Waikiki Shell to collect monies as needed.
  • Perform other related duties assigned to the position.
Special Work Requirements:
  • May be required to work days nights weekends and holidays.
  • Work schedule may vary based on operational needs events and shows.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.

  • Experienced and knowledgeable Cashier II may qualify to apply for the Supervising Casher II based on satisfactory work experience and demonstration of applicable knowledge and skills.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application you must be a citizen national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three (3) years of clerical work experience one (1) of which shall have involved the reviewing checking tabulating and recording of numerical information and data onto fiscal records forms reports or similar materials.

Substitution: Business school or college will substitute for experience on a month-for-month basis for up to two years of the required three years of clerical experience. There isNO substitution for the one year of specialized experience involving the reviewing checking tabulating and recording of numerical information and data onto records forms reports or similar materials.

Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United order to receive credit for the education a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program evidence of comparability or an original transcript.

Verification Requirement: You must submit evidence of your education in order to be given credit for the substitution. LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
