We are seeking Public Litter Bin Operators to join our Public Litter Bins this role you will play a crucial part in delivering a high-quality public litter bin service to the Hume community.
What youll be doing:
- To carry out the collection and disposal programs in accordance with Councils safety policies and procedures
- To carry our Councils public litter bin collection and disposal programs as directed by Team Leader Public Litter Bins
- To advise the Team Leader Public Litter Bins when bins are not collected and the reasons for the non-collection i.e. damaged surround
- To conduct pre-start checks and perform routine maintenance on waste collection vehicles on a daily basis in accordance with approved pre-start check list pre-star processes and maintenance programs.
- To ensure that the vehicle is cleaned and disinfected at the completion of each shift including inspecting the vehicle and reporting any maintenance/repairs requirements to the workshop.
- Report any damaged litterbin surround or MGB inserts to the Team Leader at completion of each shift.
- Report ongoing issues of overflowing public litterbins to the Team Leader at the completion of each shift. Report any issues with collection of public place recycling bins to the Team Leader Public Litter Bins at the completion of each shift.
The skills and experience youll bring to the role:
- Hold a current heavy vehicle licence.
- Good communication skills to practice public courtesy in conducting duties.
- Relevant experience in the operation of a waste collection vehicle
- Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety requirements
- Understanding of Road Rules and NHVR requirements
- Current Victorian Heavy Vehicle licence
