Who we are Ko wai mātou:
Awanui Labs Hawkes Bay (previously known as Southern Community Laboratories) provides high-quality diagnostic pathology services to the community healthcare professionals and their patients. Awanui operates a nationwide network of medical and veterinary diagnostic laboratories.
Our Patient Services Department is responsible for the collection of blood samples and handling contained specimens i.e. human blood swabs urine tissue etc. from patients. These samples are then processed and tested in our medical laboratory.
About the role Mō te tūranga:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee or Qualified Phlebotomist to join our Patient Services team in Hawkes this role you will play a key part in providing high-quality care and exceptional service to our patients.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive team-oriented environment while making a meaningful difference in your community. This is a casual position hours and work location will vary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Blood collection
- Handling contained specimens (e.g. human blood swabs urine) and preparing them for transportation.
- Customer service: Provide professional support and serve as a link between health professionals patients and the laboratory.
About you He kōrero mō:
Previous Phlebotomy experience isnot essentialif you have:
- A positive and friendly approach to your work and demonstrate cultural and social sensitivity.
- Compassion for others including a real desire to provide high-quality care to a wide variety of patients of all ages and circumstances.
- Excellent customer service skills including a high level of personal presentation.
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to follow processes accurately even when under pressure.
- Good computer skills.
- Reliable transport and full Drivers license.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand
