About The Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Hydrogeochemist/Geochemist to join our team. This role involves providing direction and technical guidance to the geochemistry team to support and grow our mining projects. The successful candidate will develop and execute mine-related geochemical testing programs and geochemical & water quality models for mining operations in Canada and internationally. The ideal candidate will have a Masters degree or Ph.D. and minimum 15 years of demonstrated experience
Key Responsibilities
- Strong geochemistry and leadership qualities.
- Direct the development and execution of geochemical testing programs for mining projects.
- Provide technical direction for the creation and calibration of geochemical and water quality models using industry-standard software.
- Provide technical support and review of geochemical data to support project planning and decision-making.
- Review technical reports presentations and documentation for clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geochemical data into mining project designs.
- Provide guidance to the mining team and other project team members on monitoring and evaluating water quality and geochemical conditions and recommendations for management.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance on field programs including site visits data collection and sampling.
- Assist in Business Development efforts to grow the mining services portfolio.
- Engage in recruitment efforts to grow and expand the offerings of the mining team.
Qualifications :
- Masters degree of Ph.D. in Geochemistry Hydrogeology Environmental Science or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in geochemical testing and modeling for mining operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Geologist (P. Geo.) or equivalent certification.
- Proficiency in understanding of geochemical modeling software (e.g. PHREEQC Geochemists Workbench).
- Experience with GIS software and data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with mining operations and practices.
