Job Summary
Type of Contract: Contract To Hire
Per diem: Weekly Per diem for candidates who live 150 miles away from location
- Adhere to General Work Requirements
- Read engineering drawings to identify the tasks to be performed in preparation for the application of chemicals and paint to aircraft surface.
- Apply safety absorbent to hangar floor and spray aircraft surface with stripper to remove all paint.
- Assist with moving aircraft to appropriate bay.
- Mask unmask and re-mask appropriate areas of aircraft surface to ensure complete protection of windows and other areas susceptible to damage.
- Remove stripper excess paint and/or contaminants using water solvents air blower and/or brushes.
- Sand grind and buff polished areas of aircraft surface apply putty to body dents and replace sealer in preparation for the application of primer and paint.
- Apply Alodine to aircraft surface using spray equipment.
- Perform touch-up work as required.
- Document work performed per Inspection Procedures Manual (IPM)
- Perform above tasks in support of production flight test and other outside areas as required.
- Assist other employees in the performance of their duties within area(s) of qualification.
Qualifications :
- 10 years of experience as aircraft painter.
- can be a mix of aircraft and automotive but must avoid only automotive paint experience
- must have large parts to full body aircraft paint experience
- Avoid only small parts paint experience
- Must be flexible with shift
- No interior/cabinetry paint experience
