As a pattern maker/designer intern you will assist the firefighting PPE design and production team in creating accurate patterns and technical documentation for PPE design concepts. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in the apparel industry while learning digital pattern-making process and technical design specification writing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers and pattern makers to understand garment concepts and specifications.
• Assist in creating precise patterns using software programs such as Gerber and Lectra.
• Maintain organized records of created and modified patterns for future reference. Maintain and update of technical specifications including garment measurements construction details fabrics and grading specifications.
• Monitor prototype development ensuring adjustments and revisions are implemented correctly.
• Participate in team meetings to enhance technical skills and garment industry knowledge.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a Fashion Design Textile Technology or Apparel Production program.
• Basic understanding of garment construction pattern making and sewing techniques.
• Familiarity with design software such as Gerber or Lectra for digital pattern creation; willingness to learn is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for verifying pattern accuracy. Detail oriented with strong observational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with designers and production teams.
• Enthusiasm for garment design textiles and pattern making processes.
