Upstream Steel Trader

Lead the development of our new global upstream trading activities

Manuchar Steel (MST) is expanding its product offering and taking a strategic step into upstream trading. To support this growth we are looking for an experienced Upstream Trader to build and scale our global sourcing and trading activities in scrap HBI/DRI slabs and related raw materials. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new business pillar within MST and create direct impact from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and grow MSTs upstream trading activities in scrap HBI/DRI slabs and related raw materials.

• Build and maintain a strong global supplier network and secure competitive sourcing opportunities.

• Identify and initiate new upstream trading opportunities to support MSTs strategic expansion.

• Share your sourcing expertise with the MST sales teams and contribute to building internal market knowledge.

• Oversee end-to-end deal execution in close collaboration with logistics finance and sales teams.

• Negotiate and structure contracts in line with MSTs commercial and operational standards.

• Monitor market trends and supply dynamics to anticipate risks and opportunities.

• Represent MST during supplier and customer visits as well as international industry events with frequent global travel (minimum once per month).

Your Profile

• Senior trading experience with a strong background in sourcing within the metals or raw materials sector.

• Existing portfolio of global suppliers; customer relationships are a plus.

• Solid logistics knowledge including experience with chartering bulk and container shipments.

• Strong financial understanding and experience with LCs avals and credit insurance.

• Entrepreneurial mindset able to operate independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

• Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
