NEW HIRES ARE CONDITIONAL UPON PASSING A FINGERPRINT SCREENING
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement.
- Minimum of a bachelors degree.
- Assist in supervision and instruction for paraeducators or willingness to learn.
- Design and implement standards-based IEPs and behavior intervention plans.
- Participate in functional behavioral assessments.
- Successful experience with a co-teaching model or willingness to participate in training.
- Prior experience or demonstrated knowledge of implementing multi-tiered interventions for academics behavior and/or social skills.
- Willingness to share and collaborate with grade level partners to meet district and/or school improvement plan(s).
- Design specially designed instruction for students with a range of disabilities to access general education curriculum.
- Participate in professional learning communities as determined by district personnel.
The candidate must demonstrate commitment to student success while aligning with state requirements and the schools guiding principles vision and mission. The candidate must also demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for working with all students. The candidate must be willing to participate in required trainings and professional development implement best practices that foster meaningful learning experiences work within a system that supports student interventions and collaborate with relevant staff members to enhance student outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
- Previous successful classroom teaching experience.
- Bilingual/Biliterate* in English/Spanish.
- Previous experience in working with students with a variety of disabilities.
- Participate in sheltered training such as Guided Language Acquisition Design (GLAD).
- Demonstrate a core belief system that matches the guiding principles and vision/mission of the school and be willing to operate accordingly.
