We have an opportunity for an electrical engineer who is seeking to utilize their strong academic background and experience in RF/Microwave system theory and design including MHD (magneto-hydrodynamics principles) and EHD (electro-hydrodynamics for example micro-plasma device or spark-gap arrays)
Responsibilities include design and simulation of microwave components and antenna arrays. Team leadership skills and presentation experience are desired.
What You Will Do
- Design of RF microwave components and phased array applications
- Modeling and analysis of MHD (magneto-hydrodynamics principles) and EHD (electro-hydrodynamics for example micro-plasma device or spark-gap arrays)
- Familiarity with thermal protective shielding
- Hands-on experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS ADS CST Mentor Graphics Xpedition and analytical tools such as Matlab
What You Will Learn
- Microwave/RF system subsystem and component analysis design and test
Qualifications You Must Have
- Must be pursuing a Bachelors or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major.
- Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools as HFSS ADS CST Mentor Graphics Xpedition and analytical tools such as Matlab
- This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelors (or higher) degree program and will be at a minimum entering their Sophomore year by the start of summer 2026.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Strong academic background that includes courses in: Microwave Engineering Microwave Systems Electromagnetic Theory and Radar Systems
- Strong hands on experience with microwave testing techniques including using spectrum analyzers Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs) Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs)
