Job Summary

As a (Junior) System Administrator you help ensure that our platform runs smoothly and reliably every day.
Tasks
- Support the operation monitoring and maintenance of our Linux-based server infrastructure and work with cloud solutions like AWS
- Use Ansible to automate recurring tasks and configuration management
- Manage and optimize MySQL databases (backups simple queries performance checks)
- Assist in deploying applications and services in collaboration with our development and data teams
- Contribute to system monitoring logging and alerting to ensure high availability
- Help improve security and hardening of systems (updates permissions basic compliance)
- Work closely with Data Science and Engineering to support data pipelines and internal tools
Requirements
- Basic knowledge in Linux system administration (e.g. Debian/Ubuntu shell system services)
- Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP DNS firewalls VPNs)
- First practical experience with Ansible (e.g. playbooks roles inventories)
- First practical experience with MySQL databases
- Experience with or interest in Python especially in the context of Data Science (e.g. Pandas simple scripts data processing)
- Ideally some experience with additional tools such as Docker Git or monitoring solutions (e.g. NewRelic Grafana)
- You work independently reliably and enjoy solving technical problems
- You have good spoken and written knowledge of German and English
