We are looking for a dedicated RegsiteredNurse like you to join our Lubbock Heart team.

What You Will do in this Role:

  • Interacts directly with patients to obtain information for patient records explain procedures allay fears and elicit cooperation.
  • Utilizes standard procedures for the maintenance of positive patient identification and records appropriate collection information in accordance with established protocol.
  • Relates results to patients in person according to physician instructions.
  • Enters data into computer system as per protocol.
  • Faxes and handles prescriptions as instructed by physician.
  • Takes telephone messages and provides feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy and charts them in EMR appropriately.
  • Gives instructions to patients as directed by physician.
  • Schedules new and follow-up appointments based on established protocol.
  • Performs vital signs and EKGs.
  • Assists in clinic as assigned or needed.
  • Documents all correspondence in EMR.
  • Completes lab slips and other forms as instructed by physician.
  • Assists in ancillary department as assigned or needed.
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned or needed.
  • Complies with OSHA safety and health rules.
  • Uses computer copier scanner and fax machine.
  • Drawing blood for labs.
  • Transporting patient from front lobby to radiology lobby.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing or Board Eligible Graduate Nurse.
  • Currently licensed in the state of Texas.
  • BSN preferred.
  • BCLS and ACLS required.
  • 2-5 years experience in cardiac care setting.

Your Shift: Full Time 0800-1700

Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital specializes in the care of cardiac orthopedic nephrology urology and general medical patients. We are also a highly active inpatient center mainly centered on surgical procedures that include cardiothoracic orthopedic urology and general surgery. We have a 24-hour Emergency Department with 5 fully equipped ED rooms 4 fully operating OR rooms 4 cardiac catherization labs with 1 electrophysiology room 11-day surgery rooms 58 acute care beds spread over three units and 16 cardiac critical care rooms. We pride ourselves on giving the best overall care possible to our patients and on our family style atmosphere that includes everyone: patients and their families physicians and our employees.
