Job Summary

Your opportunity

As an NRM Partnerships Facilitator with NQ Dry Tropics youll be at the heart of empowering communities to care for Country. This is a hands-on people-focused role where youll bring together Indigenous ranger groups Traditional Owners landholders government partners and community organisations to design and deliver on ground projects that make a real difference.

In this role youll help transform ideas into action by co-designing project activities building local skills and capacity and supporting teams to carry out monitoring and threat reduction work. Every day will be different and your ability to adapt facilitate and inspire collaboration will be essential as you guide diverse groups towards shared environmental goals.

Youll lead participatory project planning provide on-ground support and help partners strengthen their capability to deliver effective meaningful outcomes. Youll also keep projects moving forward by coordinating stakeholders managing risks and juggling priorities with confidence and clarity.

Clear communication will be one of your strongest tools ensuring everyone stays connected supported and aligned. With your guidance partners will have the direction they need to deliver high-quality work on time on scope and fully aligned with funding commitments.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead and support project planning ensuring alignment with organisational and Indigenous ranger group goals.
  • Facilitate stakeholder collaboration co-design project activities and oversee delivery of on-ground work.
  • Monitor progress manage risks and ensure projects stay on track on scope and on budget.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous rangers landholders government partners and community groups.
  • Allocate and manage resources support capacity-building and implement quality assurance.
  • Prepare reports maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory environmental and cultural standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project processes and interdisciplinary teamwork.

Role requirements

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement within the natural resource management sector including with Traditional Owners.
  • Relevant qualifications in natural resource management environmental science or equivalent relevant work experience and vocational or industry education/training.
  • GIS and field mapping skills or the ability to acquire them.
  • Current C class drivers licence and ability to undertake fieldwork including travel within the Burdekin Dry Tropics region. This will necessitate travel outside standard hours with nights away from home.

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office and Google suite of products.
  • HLTDAID011 First Aid Certificate or the ability to obtain it.
