What Youll Do
Your duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide frontline customer service in person and by phone helping customers with routine inquiries and directing them to the appropriate staff.
  • Receive review and process documents forms or requests submitted by customers or staff.
  • Perform routine clerical tasks such as data entry typing proofreading and preparing basic correspondence.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems to keep program and account information accurate and accessible.
  • Assist with processing basic account or program-related transaction according to established procedures.
  • Handle daily office tasks including scanning photocopying printing and preparing informational materials.
  • Collect distribute and manage incoming and outgoing mail and other office materials.
  • Monitor and replenish office supplies and support the upkeep of office equipment and shared workspaces.
  • Provide general administrative support to the team and assist with other duties and responsibility as needed for this position.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application you must be a citizen national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
One (1) year of clerical experience.

Such experience must have demonstrated:

  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of filing methods and systems
  • Knowledge of correct English grammar spelling and word usage
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of common office machines and equipment
  • Ability to make arithmetic computations
  • Ability to compare words and numbers accurately
  • Ability to keep records summarize and analyze materials and prepare reports
  • Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment
  • Ability to understand and interpret laws ordinances rules regulations and policies pertinent to the department
  • Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to deal with others in an effective and tactful manner

Substitution: Business school or college-level credits from an accredited college or university will substitute for experience on a month-for-month basis for the required clerical experience.

Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at an accredited college/university in the United order to receive credit for the education a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided.
